The Netherlands (Dutch: Nederland, pronounced: officially the Netherlands, is the European part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Dutch: Koninkrijk der Nederlanden).
It is a densely populated country located in Western Europe, with three small island areas in the Caribbean. In 2021, it had a total population: 17,507,126 inhabitants.
The widespread name (Netherlands) came from the region of the Netherlands, which includes only two of the twelve provinces of the Netherlands.
The country is surrounded by the North Sea, Belgium and Germany.
